Vendor Program Manager
As one of the industry faces for McHutchison, this position offers a high degree of creativity, ingenuity and cross-functional collaboration. The Vendor Program Manager needs to be able to balance the development and deployment innovative programs that will generate excitement with design that allow for efficient operational execution and profitability for our company.
Vendor management supports the current efforts of our sales teams, but it also serves as a vital source for sales growth through the analysis our portfolio and vendor program health.
Location: This position is assigned to our Naperville, IL office, but has the availability for remote work if outside of the Chicagoland area
Position requirements:
Previous work experience in product/vendor management, sales or purchasing in horticulture
Professional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, influence and empower others
Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule. 25-40% travel estimated
Proficiency with MS Office 365 products
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
Responsibilities:
Grow sales margin revenue for assigned vendors
Collaborate creatively across sales management, sales team & vendors to facilitate market- leading solutions
Demonstrate product and portfolio expertise assigned vendors and programs
Develop and cultivate relationships with assigned vendors
Develop new vendors based upon national & regional needs that create solutions for the McHutchison sales team and customers
Tasks:
Work with sales management and sales team to develop and implement growth strategies with key vendors and targeted programs
· Create targeted marketing campaigns to promote new sales opportunities
Develop marketing support tools and training and coordinate communications for sales initiatives
· Execute an annual line review and sales plan
· Travel to key vendors to build and maintain relationships
Advocate operation excellence efforts with assigned vendors to facilitate internal/external IT solutions or other work flow enhancers
· Oversee the setting of pricing and margin for assigned programs
· Organize regional program and vendor training with the sales team
· Review customer claims & involvement in claim resolution (large claims only)
