Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Your tasks and responsibilities

·       Ensures timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions

·       Processes payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees

·       Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates

·       Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions

  •  Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices

·       Ensures that the ADP Workforce Now platform is fully leveraged for filing/paying payroll-related taxes

·       Corporate records keeping with GL/WC liabilities insurance including audits and ensuring insurance is kept up to date

·       Participates in audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

·       Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures to reduce administrative burden

o   Maintain employee records in payroll/HRIS systems.

·       Administer the time and attendance policy and paid leave policy for all employees

·       Prepare quarterly/year tax reports in conjunction with ADP.

·       Respond to all unemployment claims in a timely manner.

·       Maintain the time and attendance policy and paid leave policy for all employees in ADP

·       Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements

·       Manage 401k plan with vendors including non-discrimination testing and audit

·       Collaborates with benefits broker and Head of HR to launch and monitor open enrollment and new hire benefits enrollments

·       Helps employees navigate our benefits plans, benefits enrollment platform, and serves as the point of contact for benefits providers

·       Perform other duties as required and assigned

 Your profile

Minimum 2 years of ADP payroll experience including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient with payroll/HRIS applications

College coursework or certification in Human Resources highly desired.  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.  

Possess strong organization skills and ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.

Strong attention to detail and ability to edit and proofread.

Possess a creative outlook with a problem-solving attitude.

Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.

Demonstrates responsiveness  - quickly and accurately to requests for data, ability to provide excellent customer service.
