Regional Sales Manager - West Region

As one of the industry faces for McHutchison & Vaughan’s Horticulture, this position demands complete professionalism, honesty, integrity and ethical standards. You must provide leadership and coordination of the regional sales and key accounts team in your area of responsibility.
As part of the sales management team this role supports the current efforts of our sales teams, but it also serves as a vital role for developing our sales representatives.
An ideal candidate for this role should have strength in these three core personality qualities: integrity, enthusiasm & pragmatic optimism.
Position requirements:
· Minimum 5 years in sales in the horticulture industry
· Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred
· Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve goals
· This position requires the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule. 30- 40% travel estimated
· Basic technology skills in MS Word, Excel, PP and Outlook are required
· Position ideally would be based in the Pacific time zone
PtPrimary responsibilities:
Ø Key Account Sales Team Management/Development
· Develop and execute multi-year Key Account program strategies to ensure sustainable growth
· Work with Key Account and Hybrid sales reps to drive the growth of Dümmen Orange genetics with their assigned customers
§ Facilitate teamwork with Dümmen Orange Regional Sales Managers
§ Customer strategies
§ Pricing/margin strategies
§ Sampling/trialing programs
· Grow sales & profitability of 3rd party breeders and vendors where strategically advantageous
· Lead Key Account team sales calls & meetings
· Recruit new and replace retiring Key Account & Hybrid sales representatives
§ On board, monitor and measure new Key Account sales representatives
§ Coach/mentor and provide feedback to underperforming reps
· Assess performance and suggestive corrective actions
· Advocate for Key Account team to ensure proper support & service are provided by our office team and Dümmen Orange
Ø Regional Sales Team Management/Development
· Work with assigned reps (west of Mississippi) to increase the profitability in their territories – non nursery reps

Ø Sales Management
· Assist in the creation of annual sales budgets & strategies
· Collaborate with MCHV & DO product managers to ensure development and deployment of sales strategies to meet & exceed MCHV sales goals
· Meeting, training and trip coordination as required
· Sales report development and distribution
