Job Summary

Primary focus is to complete order entry and develop long-term relationships with an assigned portfolio of customers. Responsible to liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products according to customer needs. A Sales Support Specialist will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious sales goals and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable generating interest, qualifying prospects and securing sales.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service position required
  • Ability to comprehend the Dummen Orange  product line and to communicate our value proposition to prospects
  • Horticulture or floriculture experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Team player willing to accept new challenges
  • Confident with numbers to ensure accuracy of the order entry process
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Self-starting with solid follow-through and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
  • Must interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally
  • Excellent listening and negotiation skills
  • Proactive problem solving skills and a solutions based mindset
  • Innovate and drive to continuously improve self and peers
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Computer literate with experience in enterprise order entry and tracking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed


The Sales Support Specialist's duties and responsibilities encompass but are not limited to the following key objectives:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products according to customer needs and objectives
  • Timely and effective communication of issues or changes in order status when necessary
  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Troubleshooting and resolution capabilities


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Working Conditions

  • Some travel required.  
  • Prolonged sitting at work station in a well-lit open office
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds of paper and miscellaneous supplies
