Sales Representative-Michigan Territory

The following outlines that major responsibilities for the sales position:


• Foster relationships that grow sales and profitability

and Travel to customers – build relationships, understand their needs, understand their concerns, work with internal partners to service needs and address concerns.

• Generate new sales opportunities by prospecting new customers in your territory

• Full-service management of accounts:

▪ Manage customer orders & programs

▪ Booking and input of orders

▪ Involvement in order changes & substitutions

▪ Claim resolution

▪ Develop, administer & follow up on trialing programs targeted to achieve sales objectives

▪ Communicate and maintain current account status in partnership with our Account Receivables team

• Attend Regional & National training opportunities, as appropriate, as an ambassador for the McHutchison brand

Skills and experience you need to apply:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred

• Proficient computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly with Excel

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the horticulture industry required; nursery or greenhouse specific experience preferred

• Previous experience in a sales or business development role

• Growth mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the desire to facilitate cross-functional collaboration

• Ability to work non-traditional hours, if needed


The position is Full-Time position that is exempt from overtime, allows flexible hours to meet the needs of customers. It requires that the successful candidate live in the territory but is not tied to a physical office.
