Dümmen Orange is the world’s largest breeder and propagator of cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials. For our Retail department, in the United States we are looking for a Retail Account Manager – Independent Garden Center.

As a Retail Account Manager –you will play a key role in the success of our retail programs. In this role you will direct and coordinate all Dümmen Orange activities related to independent garden center retailer, Grocery and their supplier. The Retail Account Manager will be part of an expanding team of retail account managers and interact with team members in product, sales, marketing, IT and finance management to collaborate and build new opportunities across our client engagements. 

Your tasks and responsibilities

Position Dümmen Orange concepts and products - 

Work in close coordination to Content Manager to develop programs that support retail experience for consumer on branded products or retail specific concepts

Work in close coordination to Content Manager to develop programs that support retail experience for consumer on branded products or retail specific concepts

Develop & Execute key indicators for better shopping experience - 

Develop on-line content for Dummen Orange products

Work with Marketing to Develop and coordinate retail specific programs

Work in close coordination with product teams on genetic assortment that are regional & nationally targeted

Develop a triangular relationship with Independent’s store purchaser and key supplier to foster NEW concepts wiht supporting products to enhance in store brand “X” experience

Position Dummen Orange concepts and products

Build strong relationships with retailers’ purchasing & associates. 

Meet buyers to update them on key developments, such as new products, promotional campaigns or joint marketing programs. 

Coordinate visits and presentations with product managers & broker account managers.

Maintain up-to-date sales data of retail specific cutting orders so that they can deal promptly with any inquiries or issues raised by retailer or Dummen Orange supply

Attend and Organize all Independent Garden Center  Specific Events 

In-store buyer/grower walks

Partners with Key Account Manager (KAM) for Dummen Orange and brokers on record to support suppliers in growing these retail accounts

Position Dummen Orange concepts and products  

New Variety presentations

Regional fine-tuning of genetics

Grower Trial support

In-store merchant/grower walks

Working with preferred broker to secure products

Product Positioning 

Forecast support to Key Account Managers on special projects

Your profile

5+  years’ experience in retail account management 

Hands on experience with MS Office and Adobe Suite 

Familiarity with social media

Excellent writing skills in English

Attention to detail

Good organizational and time-management skills

BS degree Horticulture, Marketing or relevant field
