Purpose:

The Sales Representative grows sales and profitability for the assigned territory with the existing customer base along with prospecting new customers.  A successful Sales Representative conducts themselves with integrity while being a critical resource for their customers.

Responsibilities

·       Grow sales and profitability for assigned customer list

·       Generate new sales opportunities by prospecting new customers in your territory

·       General management of accounts

o   Travel to customers to develop sales, build relationships & service their needs

o   Manage customer orders & programs

§  Booking of orders

§  Input of orders in our ERP

§  Involvement in order changes & substitutions

§  Claim resolution

o   Develop, administer & follow up on trialing programs targeted to achieve sales objectives

·       Attend Regional & National training opportunities for the McHutchison organization

Requirements

·       5+ years of experience in the horticulture industry required

·       Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science, Horticulture or related field preferred

·       Proficient computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel

·       MS Business Central exposure highly desired

·       Demonstrate passion for finding and developing new opportunities

·       Driven by desire to achieve

·       Leverage curiosity and creative thinking to address customer needs

·       Demonstrates analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·       Ability to work non-traditional hours if needed
