Job Summary

The Senior Inside Sales Representative (SISR) uses excellent selling skills and a solid understanding of Dümmen Orange products to sell solutions to end-user growers or channel partners. The SISR works within the United States territory, supporting regional sales managers and coordinates with internal departments. Works primarily over telephone and email. Responsible for supporting and closing sales, developing leads for regional sales teams. This full time, at will, exempt position reports to the Customer Care & Inside Sales Supervisor.

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, policies, and procedures within the horticulture industry
  • Ability to work independently, developing qualified sales opportunities through outbound/inbound telephone
  • Must interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally
  • Understanding of the sales cycle, with the ability to close smaller deals
  • Must be adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated, and must work well individually and as a member of a team
  • Strong Internet research skills required
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Self-starting with solid follow-through and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed
  • Must be independent and self-motivated, yet willing to work within a team environment
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with sales track record
  • Preferred experience:
    • Work with Salesforce.com
    • In horticulture industry
    • Supporting National Accounts preferred

Description Of Essential Functions

The Senior Inside Sales Representative’s duties and responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to the following key objectives:

  • End-to-end transaction management: requirements gathering, proposal/quoting, working with channel partners, follow up with customers and partners to complete transactions and fulfillment assurance
  • Responds to inbound sales calls, emails, and web inquiries
  • Works cross-departmentally & collaboratively with sales managers and other internal departments to speed sales
  • Provides support to the local sales team as needed, including account research, quoting, and other tasks
  • Uses PAT & Salesforce.com to log activities, track leads and opportunities, and run sales reports
  • Attends regular online and in-person product training sessions to develop expertise in product portfolio
  • Occasional attendance at seminars, industry trade shows, and other events
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Develop new strategies and initiatives to drive increased sales
  • Understand customers’ needs and requirements
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
  • Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly phone and email communication goals in accordance with strategic plan, developed by the Director of Inside Sales
  • Consistently log and record each-and-every outreach made in Salesforce.com, producing regular activity reports as requested by Director of Inside Sales
  • Follow up with each Outside Sales Manager post-meeting
  • Determine result of respective meeting, and follow up appropriately to close the loop
  • Act as a bridge between Marketing and Sales
  • Be cognizant of each marketing initiative and work toward corporate objectives
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in business, Agribusiness, marketing, finance, or related field
  • MBA preferred

Working Conditions

  • Some travel required

  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds of paper and miscellaneous supplies
