Job Summary

The Planning & Inventory Coordinator reports to the Office Manager and assists in the coordination of all processes and functions of the production department. This position provides visibility to management by tracking, processing over-sight, auditing, and troubleshooting operational issues or functions related to planning. 

***PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary position from October 2017-February 2018 with the possibility of becoming permanent. 

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years experience of planning and inventory coordination preferred
  • Intermediate to professional level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Confident with numbers to ensure integrity and accuracy of order processing
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Computer literate with experience in enterprise order entry and tracking
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and requirements

Essential Functions

The Planning & Inventory Coordinator’s duties and responsibilities encompass but are not limited to the following key objectives:

  • Communicate future inventory plans and weekly action with key production partners
  • Assist with inventory ordering, review, and maintenance
  • Resolve order entry problems
  • Complete order entry and daily customer service
  • Build relationships with key production partners
  • Maintain follow-up consistency with key production partners for timely reporting
  • Liaison of communication between key production partners and customer service
  • Manage operating and availability issues through a production contingency plan
  • Regulate weekly cut off procedures
  • Ordering of unrooted cuttings to rooting stations based on rooted cutting orders
  • Manual input of inventory/production numbers when needed


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Working Conditions

  • Some travel required
  • Some weekend and overtime work required
  • Prolonged sitting at work station in a well-lit open office
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds of paper and miscellaneous supplies
