Job Summary

The Head of Human Resources guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for each Dümmen Orange business unit in North America.  This position originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Description

Management:

  • Lead and align the Human Resource Department Managers within the organization
  • Work with local business units to define HR programs, activities, goals, and timelines annually
  • Monitor progress, make adjustments, and report results of HR goals
  • Manage Human Resources Budget
  • Participate in the strategic planning process
  • Analyze compensation salary surveys and make recommendations to the executive leadership

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Support in creation of job postings for open positions across all company locations
  • Support in candidates screening for interviews with departmental managerial staff
  • Prepare onboarding paperwork and coordinate technical and financial needs based on position
  • Oversee onboarding orientation process

Policies and Procedures:

  • Ensure that policies and procedures and employee handbook are up-to-date (as law requires)
  • Document and communicate policies and changes to all employees

Legal Compliance:

  • Responsible for compliance to all legal and regulatory mandates
  • Responsible for proactively finding out all new laws that impact employment practices, analyze company impact, make recommendations for changes, and implement changes

Employee Relations:

  • Mediate employee-manager disputes before they become grievances
  • Advise managers on performance improvement plans and resolving employee relations situations within their team
  • Visit company site locations on a quarterly basis

Employee Benefits:

  • Manage all enrollment and termination paperwork
  • Maintain overall communication with benefits broker
  • Develop new benefits options and coordinate benefit presentations for annual open enrollment
  • Liaison with broker and employee benefit communications as needed

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

Position locations are varied from home office to corporate office settings
